I have wanted to write about proxy services for a while but have not been sure what to offer until now. Every now and again you may do a few searches on Google, maybe doing a bunch of searches for a keyword and then you will suddenly get a captcha box from Google saying that your computer has been sending automated queries. Google may have a lot of bandwidth and be the biggest website in the world but heck, sometimes we just need to do a lot of searches at once.
The reason that Google is picking on you is that they do not like people mining and scraping their search engine results pages. If you do this from your computer to Google or even other sites sore registering or blog posting then you may eventually get called out as a spammer. This is a real threat espeically if you are using some great automation tools like Scrapebox or Sick Submitter.
Proxy Services
So if you are in fact worried about this risk then you will need to make your computer look like it is in several places. The service that you use for this is known as a proxy. When you plug a shared or private proxy into the software you are using to automate searches, posting, or site signups.
